Brilliant Stages collaborated with designers Stufish to produce a stage set for the return of music sensation Michael Bublé.

Brilliant worked closely with the designers to bring to life the client’s artistic vision to produce a beautiful looking show. Bublé performed on the set twice, firstly at Croke Park in Dublin followed by an appearance at the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park, London.

The set was made up of several staging elements, one of which was a riser package for the artists extensive orchestra. The risers were clad with a series of large custom facias on stage left and stage right, made from a plywood assembly and touched up with a slick gold leaf finish. Each section had LED showered lights integrated into the upper side to match the artists renders.

Brilliant also produced the hanging chevron which was flown above the main stage. This was an aluminium fabrication with a plywood skin. The in-house creatives worked tirelessly to give the structure another fabulous gold leaf finish.

Protruding out from the main stage was a 100ft long, 8ft wide catwalk which penetrated the audience and led to a 16x16ft B-stage. The central strip running down the entirety of the catwalk was gritted and scenically-treated to fit the running gold theme.

In total, there were 852 books of gold leaf used which equated to 350m² across the entire set. A staggering amount for an intricate and time-consuming application process.

The show was seen to be a great success and has resulted in the client re-using the set for further upcoming shows in London and Sydney.
