The Company

Production Park is the number one live events production destination in Europe, featuring three rehearsal studios, over 15 events businesses and the UK’s only Live Events Production University Centre, Backstage Academy.

The rehearsal studios on-site bring a variety of world class tours and productions to Production Park as well as providing space for test builds.

Production Park is also home to workshops, offices and machine shops belonging to a group of long established engineering, technology and creative specialist businesses, including Litestructures, LS-Live, CATO Music, Perry Scenic Creative and Brilliant Stages.

The Role

Primarily, this role involves working within the operations team at the company’s warehouse, in the preparation, servicing, testing, cleaning and packaging of the company’s technical rental equipment. This includes stage automation & control systems, containing electronic, hydraulic and mechanical elements.

The role also involves taking a leading involvement in the implementation and operation of warehouse IT and rental tracking software systems. The Warehouse Technician will report directly to the Rental Warehouse Manager

Key responsibilities:
• Assist with the servicing, preparation, cleaning and packaging of the company’s technical rental equipment, within the company’s warehouse.
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of full range of company’s rental stock.
• Order specialist parts as required.
• Prepare and configure elements of technical control systems into touring rack configurations prior to rental.
• Liaise with company’s automation and electronics construction department in the configuration and repair of systems for rental.
• Checking-out of customer order to ensure that all items are included and delivered and operational and cleanly presented.
• Checking-in of equipment returned from hire, against paperwork. Log and report any shortages or damages.
• Deal with customers and drivers visiting the company’s premises to collect or return orders and equipment.
• Keep all work areas clean, tidy and efficiently organised.
• Loading and unloading of equipment from vehicles. The role involves an element of manual handling of bulky and heavy technical equipment.
• As directed, provide support to the other teams within the company’s warehouse, to assist in other aspects of the warehouse’s activity, as required.

Representing the Company:
• This role involves dealing with customers of the company. It is vital that you deal courteously with customers and the public at all times and represent the company and its reputation in an impeccable manner.
• Maintain a good level of personal appearance, dress and cleanliness.
• A generally cheerful demeanour, engaging personality and sense of humour would be a huge advantage in making a success of this role.

Skills & Qualities
• Good communications / interpersonal skills. Fluent speaker of English language.
• Flexible and adaptable. Able to respond to short-notice changes in working hours and schedules.
• Practical ability in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
• Practical electrical and electronics knowledge.
• Understanding of basic working and repair of mechanical systems and hydraulic systems.
• Passport, with ability to travel within the UK & internationally at short notice.
• Strong IT knowledge with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office etc.
• Numerate. Good maths skills and arithmetic required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast developing company.
• The ability to work as a member of a team and to provide and receive input from other team members is vital.

• Previous knowledge of technical production equipment and the technical production industry would be an advantage.
• Full UK Driving Licence, to include categories B (cars and vehicles up to 3500kg).
• A true and demonstrable interest in technical aspects of the production industry and stage automation and control systems.
• An interest in IT systems and software. The ability to learn and take ownership of an IT system / software implementation project.


  • Position – Full-Time.
  • Salary – Dependent on experience.
  • Location – South Kirkby, Wakefield
  • Hours – 40-hour week (full-time) 8:30am to 17:30pm.
