The Company

Production Park is the number one live events production destination in Europe, featuring two rehearsal studios, over 15 events businesses and the UK’s only Live Events Production University Centre, Backstage Academy.

The rehearsal studios on-site bring a variety of world class tours and productions to Production Park as well as providing space for test builds.

Production Park is also home to workshops, offices and machine shops belonging to a group of long established engineering, technology and creative specialist businesses.

The Role

This hands-on role takes overall responsibility for the handling of rental asset enquiries and requirements from the projects team of the company. Key objectives of the role include:

  • Efficiently respond to asset rental enquiries from the company’s projects team.
  • Providing projects team with advice and completing their specifications.
  • Ensure the profitable and efficient delivery of asset rental orders, through liaison with the rental operations team.
  • Keep the Company’s rental software and asset specification database up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as job handler in all aspects of delivering an asset rental enquiry; to include calculating full itemised specifications, and equipment. This job handling will be; practical, administrative and commercial.
  • Handle rental enquiries for internal clients. Process client requests and issue quotations / proposals for equipment rental efficiently.
  • Match internal request requirements to available rental stock to maximise profitable delivery and execution on specific projects.
  • Take overall responsibility for the profitable and maximum utilisation of assets required and the minimisation of costs incurred.
  • Provide and coordinate out of hours support and advice to active projects, colleagues and clients as required.
  • Ensure all rental asset department’s HireTrack jobs are kept up to date and adhere to the company’s prescribed way of working.
  • Enter new rental assets on HireTrack, ensuring all components are listed and included, in conjunction with the Company’s design, automation and fabrication departments.
  • Provide commercial input on quotations prepared, through discussion with customer, colleagues and directors.
  • Prepare rental invoices and close HireTrack job upon completion of each rental. Ensure all projects are correctly invoiced and system status is correct, on a regular basis.
  • Track, resolve and assist with missing items for returns. Invoice missing items and re order items on a monthly or asap basis depending on the type and availability.
  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement of the companies HireTrack system in conjunction with the operations department.
  • Undertake reporting across the asset rental department including usage, availability, financial and use this to suggest asset purchases and disposals.
  • Managing any job changes and customer confirmations, collating and reporting all charges to be invoiced.
  • Provide support to the Directors, in other aspects of the business’s activity, as required, requested and directed.
  • Keep all work-related information confidential and acting in a professional manner at all times, in all work and industry-social situations.
  • Provide feedback to Line Manager of any areas of improvement, development or growth of the business identified. Take a role within the team in problem solving and contribute to team & business improvement.
  • Be aware of and complying with the company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Ensure that the Company’s policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties.

Representing the Company:

  • Keep abreast of all business opportunities through consistent communication and visits with recognised influencers and decision makers.
  • Keep abreast of any technical issues and new products that will enhance our rental inventory and services offer.

Skills Required:

  • Good communications / interpersonal skills.
  • Commercially astute. Good understanding of profitability, margin protection, cost control and basic accounting practices.
  • Ability to manage a situation and effectively deal with both junior and senior colleagues.
  • Good working knowledge of full range of current production technology and staging equipment and practices.
  • Strong IT knowledge.
  • Able to write a proposal and express an idea or concept to a client or industry partner, either written or verbal.
  • Able to use spread sheets and IT to monitor budgets, profit margins etc.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual capable of working on their own initiative in a constantly changing and pressurised environment and fast developing company.
  • Full driving licence, own transport and passport required.
  • Ability to travel within UK, often at short notice.


  • Position – Full-Time 40-hour week 8:30am to 17:30pm
  • Salary – Dependent on experience.
