Vocational learning has always been central to what we do. In 2023 we significantly expanded our short-course and professional training provision through new collaborations with industry-led skills bodies, combined authorities and commercial training partners.
We are now entering an exciting phase of growth, expanding our partnerships, developing new training opportunities and strengthening our operational delivery.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Training Manager to lead the continued growth and delivery of our short courses and vocational training programmes.
This is a pivotal role within a growing organisation, responsible for scaling our training provision, developing partnerships and ensuring programmes are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to an exceptional standard.
Working closely with the Head of Institution and Senior Leadership Team, you will help expand our training portfolio, develop new funding and commercial opportunities, and build the systems, people and processes needed to support future growth.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the delivery and growth of short courses and training programmes
· Develop partnerships with employers, funders and industry stakeholders
· Build a pipeline of new training opportunities and support funding bids
· Manage programme delivery, resources and budgets
· Line manage recruitment and careers staff supporting training activity
· Ensure programmes meet quality, regulatory and funding requirements
· Work with marketing teams to promote training opportunities
About You
We’re looking for someone who believes employer-led skills education can transform industries and careers.
You will bring strong leadership, operational and partnership-building skills along with experience in delivering training or education programmes.
You will also have:
· Experience managing training or short course provision
· Strong leadership and team management skills
· Experience delivering projects and driving operational performance
· Confidence working with external partners and stakeholders
· Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
· A results-focused approach to achieving targets and outcomes
· Experience using data and systems to drive improvement
Desirable experience includes:
· Work with publicly funded training programmes or skills initiatives
· Experience with combined authorities or Department for Education programmes
· Knowledge of the creative industries or live events sector
· Experience supporting Skills Bootcamps or similar training initiatives
