Led by SIXTY82’s CTO and industry veteran Marc Hendriks, the training provided attendees with valuable technical insight drawn from decades of experience in the design and manufacture of temporary structures. The session welcomed more than 70 industry professionals, creating an engaging environment for learning, discussion and knowledge sharing.
Throughout the day, Marc explored the fundamentals of truss and temporary structures, covering how they are designed, used and managed safely in live event environments. Topics included loads and forces, industry regulations, inspection processes and responsibilities for safety. Attendees also gained a deeper understanding of environmental and operational risks such as wind, snow, ice, ballast and guy wires when constructing and operating temporary structures.
Hosted in Studio 004, the event combined practical expertise with a professional training environment, giving participants the opportunity to expand their technical knowledge while networking with peers from across the industry.
Johnny Marshall, Director at SIXTY82 said:
“We had over 70 attendees on the day and used the fantastic Studio 004 facility. It was valuable to host the event at Production Park as it’s a well-known industry location, making it a relevant and professional setting for the training. It created a fantastic atmosphere for learning, networking and sharing real-world experience.
“The studio, stores, technical, operations and catering teams made us, and the trainees feel extremely welcome and went above and beyond in the lead-up to, during and after the event.”
It’s great to see members of the Production Park community bringing valuable industry training opportunities like this to campus. Sessions such as SIXTY82’s truss training not only provide vital technical knowledge and practical insight but also reinforce Production Park’s role as a hub for learning, collaboration and professional development.
