Learn in-demand live event skills, and get a guaranteed job interview in just 5 weeks

The Academy of Live Technology at Production Park is opening a 5-week Live Event Production course to help people in West Yorkshire train for a career in one of the fastest growing industries in the UK. In partnership with The Piece Hall, the course is aimed at graduates and people looking to up-skill or change careers. And, each learner gets a guaranteed job interview with some of the industry’s leading organisations.

Delivered by the Academy of Live Technology at Production Park, the course will start in February and run for two days a week for 5 weeks. The course is open to anyone in West Yorkshire, with a particular focus on unemployed people or recent graduates looking to get new skills.

You’ll be training at Europe’s leading live events campus, on which some of the world’s biggest names have created films, shows and tours, from Lady Gaga to Beyoncé, ITV to F1 Red Bull Racing, Cirque du Soleil and Wicked The Musical.

The knowledge, skills and behaviours you’ll learn on this short course will help you to land a job that could take you around the world.

And it’s completely free if you’re if you are unemployed, self-employed, or in part-time education.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

- Knowledge of live event staff roles and responsibilities.
- Knowledge of event language and terminology.
- Knowledge of core live event processes.
- How to load-in, rig, operate, de-rig and load-out a live event.
- Skills in manual handling, basic rigging and cabling management.
- Skills in one specialism of digital operations (sound, light and video).
- Knowledge, skills and behaviours in professional conduct and etiquette.

You will also get an industry-recognised Event Safety Passport qualification by Safety Pass Alliance.

At the end of the course, every learner is guaranteed a job interview with some of the industry’s most exciting employers, including Production Park, the Academy of Live Technology, XPLOR, TAIT, 4Wall, Usual Suspects, and National Event Service (crewing).

And, The Piece Hall will be providing open access to jobs they’re recruiting for during their extensive summer events programme, both with their in-house production team and promoters Cuffe & Taylor.

It doesn’t end there either, as you will have access to further support to find roles if you need it.
